Enriching records

This page covers the everyday flow: starting a run and working with the results.

Starting a run

There are three ways to start an enrichment:

  1. Automatically on creation — if enrich-on-creation is enabled for the object, every new record starts a run on its own.
  2. Manually — open the record, go to the Enrichment tab and press Start enrichment (it reads Run Again after the first run).
  3. From a Flow — an admin can trigger enrichment on your own conditions, for example when a Lead reaches a certain status. See Trigger from a Flow.

The agent needs a few basics to search reliably. For Leads that means first name, last name and company, ideally with country. If something is missing, the panel tells you what to add.

One run at a time

Only one run can be active per record. While it runs, the status shows Requested or Sent to Data Enrichment and the panel refreshes on its own. See Run statuses.

Working with the Enrichment panel

The panel compares the result with your record, field by field:

  • Empty fields are filled automatically when auto-populate is on.
  • Fields that already have data show up as suggestions with both values side by side.

To apply results:

  1. Go through the rows and accept or reject each suggestion.
  2. Select all suggestions accepts everything at once.
  3. Save selected changes writes the accepted values to the record.

The notice above the record counts how many empty fields were filled and lists the first few. The full list is in the Enrichment tab.

Why is a field not filled?

The most common reasons:

  • The field already had a value. Existing data only changes when you accept a suggestion.
  • Auto-populate is off for this object, so everything arrives as a suggestion.
  • The source value doesn't fit your picklist. An admin has to add a value mapping.
  • The run ended with No Match. The sources had nothing reliable on this company.
  • The source simply didn't have the information. Not every profile lists an email or phone number.
